Universidade Europeia abre oficialmente Ano Letivo 2021/22 com debate sobre o Estado da Saúde em Portugal

English Version Below A sessao de Abertura do Ano Letivo 2021/2022 da Universidade Europeia decorreu no passado dia 9 de novembro, no auditorio do Campus da Quinta do Bom Nome. O evento contou com diversos convidados, tanto na plateia, como atraves do Youtube, que puderam assistir as intervençoes da Professora Doutora Helia Gonçalves Pereira, Reitora da Universidade Europeia, e ao debate sobre a "O Estado da Saude em Portugal".

A mesa redonda para debater este tema contou com um grupo de oradores de luxo, constituído pela Dr.ª Maria de Belém Roseira, Presidente do Advisory Board da Universidade Europeia, pelo Dr. Vasco Antunes Pereira, CEO do grupo Lusíadas Saúde e membro do Advisory Board da Universidade Europeia, e pelo Professor Doutor Adalberto Campos Fernandes, Coordenador da área da Saúde da Universidade Europeia. Este momento foi moderado pela Professora Doutora Sandra Martins, Coordenadora da área da Psicologia e Desporto da Universidade Europeia.

A Reitora deu as boas-vindas a mais um ano letivo e demonstrou muita satisfação por poder juntar finalmente toda a comunidade académica, sem nunca esquecer os cuidados que continuam a ser necessários.

Frisou o trabalho de adaptação que foi feito nos últimos dois anos para que fosse possível manter a qualidade no ensino, ainda que não de forma presencial. Lembrou ainda o importante papel da Universidade Europeia que tem “tomado a dianteira da inovação, fazendo mexer o setor do Ensino Superior e fazendo a mudança acontecer”.

No debate sobre o Estado da Saúde em Portugal, a Dr.ª Maria de Belém Roseira lembrou que a perceção das pessoas sobre o estado da Saúde no país é “bastante influenciada pelo que se tem passado nos últimos dois anos”, destacando a importância do Serviço Nacional de Saúde (SNS) e que é necessário “substituir a cultura de preconceito pela cultura de responsabilidade”, porque todos são importantes no cumprimento do seu papel e função.

Nas suas intervenções, o Dr. Vasco Antunes Pereira destacou que “não estamos no mesmo sítio, mas havendo uma escada daquele que é o caminho a ser percorrido, o degrau onde estamos hoje, não é o que queremos estar amanhã”, pois “aquilo que são os desafios de amanhã não são os mesmos de ontem”.

O Professor Doutor Adalberto Campos Fernandes mencionou que apesar do contexto socioeconómico do país, esta pobreza não deve envergonhar, mas sim motivar para que se continue a fazer melhor. O Professor frisou que “Portugal não pode deixar de ter o SNS que garante uma resposta forte e estruturante e que responda a todos os diferentes agentes da população de uma forma qualificada e gratuita”.

No âmbito do trabalho que tem sido desenvolvido na área da Saúde na Universidade Europeia, liderado pelo antigo ministro da saúde, o Professor lembrou ainda que “não existe Universidade sem investigação” e que é preciso investir em investigação “para dar à sociedade conhecimento novo”.

The Opening Session of the 2021/2022 Academic Year of the Universidade Europeia took place last November 9, in the auditorium of the Quinta do Bom Nome Campus. The event had several guests both in the audience and through youtube (or streaming platform) who could watch the interventions of Professor Dr. Hélia Gonçalves Pereira, Rector of Universidade Europeia, and the debate on "The State of Health in Portugal".

The round table to debate this topic counted with a group of luxury speakers, composed by Dr. Maria de Belém Roseira, President of the Advisory Board of the Universidade Europeia, Dr. Vasco Antunes Pereira, CEO of the Lusíadas Saúde group and member of the Advisory Board of the Universidade Europeia, and Professor Adalberto Campos Fernandes, Coordinator of the Health area of the Universidade Europeia. This moment was moderated by Professor Sandra Martins, Coordinator of the Psychology and Sports area of Universidade Europeia

The Rector welcomed another academic year and showed great satisfaction in finally being able to bring together the entire academic community, without ever forgetting the care that is still needed.

The rector underlined the adaptation work that was done in the last two years so that it was possible to maintain the quality of teaching, even if not in a face-to-face way. Professor Dr. Hélia Gonçalves Pereira also recalled the important role of Universidade Europeia that has "taken the lead in innovation, making the Higher Education sector move and making change happen".

In the debate on the State of Health in Portugal, Dr. Maria de Belém Roseira recalled that people's perception of the state of Health in the country is "greatly influenced by what has happened in the last two years", highlighting the importance of the National Health Service (NHS) and that it is necessary to "replace the culture of prejudice with the culture of responsibility", because everyone is important in fulfilling their role and function.

In his interventions, Dr. Vasco Antunes Pereira highlighted that "we are not in the same place, but there is a ladder of what is the path to be taken, the step where we are today is not the step we want to be tomorrow", because "tomorrow's challenges are not the same as yesterday's".

Professor Adalberto Campos Fernandes mentioned that despite the country's socio-economic context, this poverty should not shame, but rather motivate us to continue to do better. The Professor stressed that "Portugal cannot fail to have an SNS that guarantees a strong and structuring response and that responds to all the different agents of the population in a qualified and freeway".

In the scope of the work that has been developed in the area of Health at the European University, led by the former Health Minister, the Professor also reminded that "there is no University without research" and that it is necessary to invest in research "to give society new knowledge".
