Hélia Gonçalves Pereira is the Rector of Universidade Europeia since 2021. She has been working in the Higher Education sector for more than 20 years with an extensive teaching experience and as director of several programs, from the bachelor in Marketing Management until different Masters and Post Degrees (also in the executive education), and at an international level. Hélia Gonçalves Pereira was vice-Dean in the Department of Marketing, Operations and General Management at ISCTE Business School and the Director of the Marketing FutureCast Lab, the first European laboratory for applied research in new marketing trends.
Her background is interdisciplinary, combining a BSc in Economics, a Post Degree in European Studies, an MBA, an MSc in Management, a PhD in Marketing and several years as a senior consultant in Price Waterhouse and Coopers. As a researcher, she is interested in consumer behaviour, digital marketing and social media, as well as strategic marketing, being author and co- author of several books, books chapters and scientific papers and, as well, as participant in many editions of the most relevant scientific conferences in the field of marketing and management.

Vice-Rector
Paulo Nuno Vieira recently took up the post of Vice-Rector, combining it with that of director of the Universidade Europeia academic model. He obtained his PhD in 2012 in Human Motricity, specialising in Health and Physical Condition from the Faculty of Human Motricity. In 2004 he completed a master's degree in Exercise and Health and in 1998 a degree in Sports Science, also from the Faculty of Human Motricity. He has taught in Higher Education Institutions in the area of Sport since the beginning of 2000, in conjunction with his work as a Physical Education teacher, Basketball coach and trainer of coaches, all of which for over 30 years. He has held management and coordination positions in various areas, namely exercise and health, in scientific and community programmes, such as collaboration in the Exercise and Health Laboratory of the Faculty of Human Motricity, in the area of obesity treatment through the PESO programme (Promotion of Exercise and Health in Obesity) and RNCP (National Weight Control Register); in sports training, in the Lisbon Basketball Association, the Portuguese Basketball Federation and different sports clubs; and in school management, as president of the General Council and coordinator of departments and subject groups. In terms of research, he has published several articles and supervised students. In recent years, he has focussed his interest on learning active methodologies in Higher Education, structuring and developing teaching methods.

She was a Member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and President of the World Health Assembly of the World Health Organization. It develops an intense action in the field of volunteering, in management bodies of various institutions in the area of Social Economy, having been part of the Steering Committee of the International Association of Mutualities for several years. She was President of the Socialist Party and candidate for the Presidency of the Republic.

Master in Business Administration, Fundação Getúlio Vargas - School of Business Administration, São Paulo, Brazil, holds a specialization (Post-Graduate) in "Commercial and Business Law" from the Pontifica Catholic University, Brazil and a degree in Law from the Faculty of Law from the University of Lisbon (where he held teaching functions). He is currently Managing Partner and Founder of SRS Advogados. With over 40 years of experience, Pedro Rebelo de Sousa has vast experience in banking, having been Vice President of an international investment bank in São Paulo and New York and CEO of a Portuguese bank.

Graduated in Law from Universidade Lusíada, obtained his MBA from Georgetown University. Vasco Antunes Pereira is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lusíadas Saúde - a Portuguese private healthcare group integrated in the UnitedHealth Group, with private hospitals and clinics and a Public-Private Partnership hospital. Previously, he was Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hospital de Cascais and Executive Director of Grupo Lusíadas. He was responsible for Logistics and Trading in the healthcare industry. He started his career as a lawyer, focusing on Corporate and Health.

Degree in Law from the Catholic University, Master in International Economics and European Studies from ISEG. He is currently studying for a PhD in Development Studies at the University of Lisbon. Pedro Duarte led the National Political Committee for Social Democratic Youth, from 1998 to 2002, having been a deputy to the Assembly of the Republic, by the Círculo do Porto, successively elected in the 1999, 2002, 2005 and 2009 legislatures. He directed the campaign of Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa to the 2016 presidential elections, won in the first round. Since 2011 he has been Director of Corporate Affairs at Microsoft Portugal and is part of the European Government Affairs team at Microsoft. Since 2018, he has chaired the Strategic Council for the Digital Economy of the CIP (Confederação Empresarial de Portugal).

He has a degree in Law from the Catholic University of Porto and a postgraduate degree in Banking, Stock Exchange and Insurance from the University of Coimbra. His career has been linked to tourism since 2000, when he took over the management of clients at Exponor. Later, as Adjunct to the Councilor of the Human Resources, Sports, Education and Youth Department, between 2002 and 2004, he coordinated the Office of the Porto City Council responsible for managing the Euro 2004 – European Football Championship. Founding shareholder of the company responsible for creating and holding the largest national event in the wine industry, "Essência do Vinho", Nuno Botelho also developed the project "Essência do Gourmet", launched in 2006 the magazine "Wine" and in 2018 acquired “Revista de Vinhos”, the leading wine and gastronomy publication in Portugal. Germano de Sousa is a specialist in Clinical Pathology. Full professor and director of the College of Post-Graduate Education of the Universidade Atlântica, he is director of the Clinical Pathology Service at Hospital Fernando Fonseca. Counselor of the National Council for Ethics in the Life Sciences, presides over the Portuguese Society of Clinical Chemistry and is a member of the New York Academy of Sciences. He was an associate professor at the Faculty of Medical Sciences for 20 years, founded and conducted the Master's Course in Chemical Pathology and was a member of the Graduate Studies Office at the same faculty. At the Civil Hospitals he was director of the Clinical Pathology Services at the Desterro and Capuchos Hospitals. He chaired the Portuguese Society of Clinical Pathology, the Portuguese Society of Osteoporosis and Metabolic Diseases and the National Association of Clinical Laboratories. He was Chairman of the Medical Association between 1999 and 2005.
